Automated Garbage Service Notice

At Yakima Waste Systems, we do our best to stay up-to-date on the changing services that's within us and changing around us. Because we strive to stay in constant contact with our customers and the public in all operations, There will be some changes:

BENEFITS OF ROLL CARTS VS. 1.5 YARD CONTAINERS
  • Carts are easier to maneuver or strategically place around the property for on-the-spot cleanups.
  • The refuse volume of 3 carts is very close to that of a 1.5-yard container
  • Carts contribute to a clean and more attractive neighborhood.
  • Lower rates because carts can be collected safely by our efficient automated collection vehicles
  • Lower rates by allowing our slower commercial collection vehicle to focus where it is necessary

1.5-yard service will only be available for customers who meet the criteria of a commercial, institutional, or industrial generator as defined in Section 480-70-041 of the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) and if the truck can safely service the container off the roadway and have a turnaround space. If a customer does not meet the Commercial definition, they will be delivered (3) 96-gallon carts in place of 1.5-yard container. Other cart options are available.
